On December 4, 2019 Fairfax County’s Department of Transportation (DOT) held a community workshop to discuss alternatives to proposed bike paths in Huntley Meadows Park that were removed from the Fairfax County’s plans earlier in the year. Some of the workshop participants proposed new paths through Huntley Meadows Park that were inconsistent with the Fairfax County Board of Supervisor’s decision to not place bike paths through the park. ASNV wrote to DOT urging them to respect the Board of Supervisor’s decision and the environmental sensitivity of the park. You can read our letter here. DOT responded, stating that no new bike paths through the park would be considered.
