Backyard Bounty - Now you can Birdathon at Home!

Eastern Towhee, Calli Cook/Audubon Photography Awards

Compete from the comfort of home.

Not interested in driving all over town? Gather your team at your own home and enjoy a more relaxed approach to Birdathon!

You and your teammates will still count as many species as possible, but you can do it from your patio, deck, or backyard, garden party style!

This is a great way for families to participate too! Get the kids involved and you will be amazed at what they discover right at home.

Need a refresher on how to identify backyard birds? Join us March 20 at 7PM for a FREE virtual program.

During this workshop, we’ll cover:

  • Common backyard bird species you’re likely to see year-round

  • Migratory warblers that might pass through your yard this Spring

  • Essential birding tools—from field guides to apps and binoculars

  • How to use Merlin to identify unfamiliar birds

  • How to use e-bird to report birds you observe

  • Tips for creating a team and participating in Birdathon
